2022 Membership Meeting and Elections

Membership Meeting

Our next general membership meeting will be held on November 19th 2022, from 2PM to 5PM EST.

The Agenda of the meeting will be as follows:

1.            Meeting opening

2.            Approval of agenda

3.            Approval of minutes from 2020 membership meeting

4.            Treasurer’s report and budget

5.            President’s report (CALL activities review 2020-2022)

6.            Election information and candidate speeches

There will be simultaneous translation during the meeting.

We will send a link for the meeting as well as relevant documentation in the upcoming weeks.


Council Elections

CALL is also launching the upcoming Council elections.

Council is CALL’s governing body and is comprised of elected representatives from across the country. Terms are for two years, and elections are held on even numbered years, including 2022.

Members may run for the following positions:

─ President;

─ National Vice President of Equity and Anti-Oppression;

─ National Vice President of Information;

─ Treasurer;

─ Regional Vice-Presidents - two per province and one for each territory;

CALL is seeking volunteers for the Election Committee, which is mandated to run the electronic vote. All members committed to ensuring a free and fair election, and who are not candidates, are eligible to join the committee by emailing the current President at sataogul@mmgc.quebec by November 1, 2022.

The election is launched on October 19th and will remain open until December 20, 2022.

Members may declare their candidacy between November 10, 2022 and November 30, 2022.

The election period will be held between December 11, 2022 and December 20, 2022.

Results will be announced on December 21, 2022.

Regional events may be held to provide opportunities for members to meet the candidates. There will also be a moment during the upcoming business meeting for Council members on the executive (President, National Vice President of Equity and Anti-Oppression, National Vice President of Information, Treasurer).

Additional information will be sent by the Election Committee in the coming weeks, including where to send candidacy.
